REMOVAL

I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION

• Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle: Towing and lifting) (MR 392, 02, Lifting equipment).
• Apply the discharge procedure for the exhaust injector fuel supply system (see 19B, Exhaust, Exhaust fuel injector: Removal - Refitting, 19B-66).
• Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting) (MR 392, 80A, Battery).
• Remove:
  • the engine cover,
  • the engine undertray,
  • the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting) (MR 392, 80A, Battery),
  • the battery tray (see Battery tray: Removal - Refitting) (MR 392, 80A, Battery),
  • the diesel injector from the catalytic pre-converter (see 19B, Exhaust, Exhaust fuel injector: Removal - Refitting, 19B-66).

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART CONCERNED

• Place a (Ms. 583) or a hose clamp on the hoses (1) of the catalytic pre-converter diesel injector cooler.
• Release the clips (2) using the (Mot. 1448).
• Disconnect the diesel injector cooler hoses on the catalytic pre-converter.

Note: Be prepared for the escape of coolant.

• Remove:
  • the catalytic pre-converter diesel injector cooler nuts (3),
  • the diesel injector cooler on the catalytic pre-converter,
  • the seal from the diesel injector cooler on the catalytic pre-converter, then discard it.

Note: Be prepared for the escape of coolant.

REFITTING

I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART CONCERNED

• If replacing, torque tighten the diesel injector cooler studs (on the catalytic pre-converter9 N.m).
• Refit:
  • the diesel injector cooler on the catalytic pre-converter fitted with a new seal,
  • the diesel injector cooler nuts on the catalytic pre-converter.
• Torque tighten the diesel injector cooler nuts on the catalytic pre-converter (25 N.m).
• Connect the diesel injector cooler inlet and outlet hoses to the catalytic pre-converter.
• Fit the clips using the (Mot. 1448).
• Remove the hose clamps from the catalytic pre-converter diesel injector cooler hoses.

II - FINAL OPERATION

• Refit:
  • the diesel injector on the catalytic pre-converter (see 19B, Exhaust, Exhaust fuel injector: Removal - Refitting, 19B-66),
  • the battery tray (see Battery tray: Removal - Refitting) (MR 392, 80A, Battery),
  • the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting) (MR 392, 80A, Battery).
• Perform the following operations:
  • top up the coolant level in the expansion bottle,
  • bleed the cooling system .
• Connect the Diagnostic tool
• Run command AC 237 : fuel pump relay.
• Wait for the command to end, then lift the vehicle and check that there are no leaks on the injection circuit: deal with any leaks.
• Refit:
  • the engine undertray,
  • the engine cover.
