REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 80A, Battery).
- Remove:
- the throttle valve (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Throttle
valve: Removal - Refitting, 12A-33),
- the intake distributor (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Inlet
distributor: Removal - Refitting, 12A-45),
- the ignition coils from cylinders 2, 3 and 4 (see
17A, Ignition, Coils: Removal - Refitting, 17A-2).

- Remove:
- the inlet manifold retaining bracket mounting bolts (1),
- the inlet manifold retaining brackets (2).
- Unclip the petrol vapour rebreathing solenoid valve wiring harness (3).
- Remove:
- the retaining bracket mounting bolts (4),
- the retaining brackets.
- Disconnect the oil vapour rebreathing pipe (5) from
the oil decanter.
- Remove the oil vapour rebreathing pipe.
- Unclip the breather hose (6) from the gearbox.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED

- Remove:
- the mounting bolts (7) from the oil separator,
- the oil decanter.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATIONS OPERATION
WARNING
The joint faces must be clean, dry and free from
grease (avoid finger marks).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
- Refit:
- the oil decanter fitted with a new seal,
- the oil decanter mounting bolts.

- Tighten to torque and in order the oil decanter
mounting bolts (13 Nm).
III - FINAL OPERATION.
- Refit the oil vapour rebreathing pipe.
- Connect the oil decanter oil vapour rebreathing
hose.
- Refit:
- the retaining brackets,
- the retaining bracket mounting bolts.
- Connect the petrol vapour rebreathing solenoid
valve wiring harness.
- Refit:
- the inlet manifold retaining brackets,
- the inlet manifold retaining bracket mounting bolts,
- the ignition coils for cylinders 2, 3 and 4 (see 17A,
Ignition, Coils: Removal - Refitting, 17A-2),
- the intake distributor (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Inlet
distributor: Removal - Refitting, 12A-45),
- the throttle valve (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Throttle
valve: Removal - Refitting, 12A-33).
- Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 80A, Battery).

- Remove the intake distributor.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED

- Remove:
- the bolts (1) from the oil separator,
- the oil separator,
- the oil separator seal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
- parts always to be replaced: oil decanter bolt.
- parts always to be replaced: Oil decanter seal.
WARNING
Do not scrape the joint faces of the aluminium,
any damage caused to the joint face will result in
a risk of leaks.
- Use SUPER CLEANING AGENT FOR JOINT FACES
(see ) (04B, Consumables - Products) to
clean:
- the oil separator joint face if it is to be re-used,
- the rocker cover joint face.
- Use SURFACE CLEANER (see ) (04B, Consumables
- Products) to degrease:
- the oil separator joint face if it is to be re-used,
- the rocker cover joint face.
WARNING
To ensure proper sealing, the gasket surfaces
must be clean, dry and not greasy (avoid any finger
marks).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED

- Refit:
- a new seal on the oil separator,
- the oil separator,
- new oil separator bolts.
- Torque tighten in order the oil separator bolts (15
N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
- Refit the intake distributor.

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitt

With the ignition on, turn the end of
stalk 1 to align mark 2 with the symbol.
Wiping frequency varies with speed.
When working in the engine
compartment, ensure that
the windscreen wiper stalk
is in the park position.

DISC BRAKE
Brake discs cannot be reground. If there is excessive
scoring or wear, they will need to be replaced (see
30A, General information, Brake: Specifications, 30A-9).
When replacing a brake disc, be sure to replace the
disc on the opposite side.
Be sure to replace the brake pads if the bra
