Renault Clio: Rear suspension spring: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle: Towing and
lifting).
- Remove the rear wheels (see 35A, Wheels and tyres,
Wheel: Removal - Refitting, 35A-1).
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED

- Unpick the wheel speed sensor wiring harnesses (1)

- Using a block, bring the component jack into contact
under the rear axle, near the shock absorber.
- Mark the position where the springs are fitted.
- Remove the shock absorber lower mounting (2).
- Remove the component jack.
- Repeat these operations on the opposite side.

- Remove the springs by withdrawing the component
jack.
- Leave the rear axle suspended.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED

- Using a block, bring the component jack into contact
under the rear axle, near the shock absorber.

- Refit the springs in their housing.
- Compress the rear axle.
- Refit the lower shock absorber mounting bolts.
- Torque tighten the shock absorber lower mounting
bolts (105 Nm).
- Mount the wheel speed sensor wiring.
II - FINAL OPERATION.
- Remove the component jack.
- Refit the rear wheels (see 35A, Wheels and tyres,
Wheel: Removal - Refitting, 35A-1).

the end float is greater than 0.03 mm.
