Renault Clio: Input shaft lip seal: Removal - Refitting
JH3 or JR5
- Replace the lip seal after opening the gearbox (see
Technical Note 3661A, gearbox JH - JR).

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Remove:
- the gearbox (see 21A, Manual gearbox, Manual
gearbox: Removal - Refitting, 21A-12),
- the clutch thrust bearing (see 20A, Clutch, Clutch
thrust bearing: Removal - Refitting, 20A- 11).
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
- Drill a hole in the seal, using a 2.5 mm drill bit.
WARNING
Do not scratch the shaft or mating face.

- Fit a bolt in seal (1).
- Extract the seal (1) using pliers.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED

- Fit a new seal with its protector using the (Bvi.1601).
- Remove the protector.
II - FINAL OPERATION
- Refit:
- the clutch thrust bearing (see 20A, Clutch, Clutch
thrust bearing: Removal - Refitting, 20A- 11).
- the gearbox (see 21A, Manual gearbox, Manual
gearbox: Removal - Refitting, 21A-12).
