Renault Clio: Quarter panel trim: Removal - Refitting
IMPORTANT
Consult the safety and cleanliness advice and operation
recommendations before carrying out any

IMPORTANT
To avoid any risk of triggering when working on or
near a pyrotechnic component (airbags or pretensioners),
lock the airbag computer using the diagnostic
tool.
When this function is activated, all the trigger lines
are inhibited and the airbag warning light on the
instrument panel lights up continuously (ignition
on).
IMPORTANT
Never handle the pyrotechnic systems (pretensioners
or airbags) near to a source of heat or naked
flame - they may be triggered.
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Lock the airbag computer using the Diagnostic tool
(see Fault finding - Replacement of components)
(88C, Airbags and pretensioners).
- Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(80A, Battery).
- Remove the rear bench seatback (see 76A, Rear
seat frames and mechanisms, Single unit rear
bench seatback: Removal - Refitting, 76A-
1) or (see 76A, Rear seat frames and mechanisms,
1/3 and 2/3 rear bench seatback: Removal
- Refitting, 76A-4).
C85
- Unclip the rear wing panel trim (see 71A, Body internal
trim, Rear panel lining: Removal - Refitting, 71A-32).
B85 or C85
- Remove the rear inner sill upper trim (see 71A,
Body internal trim, Rear inner sill upper trim: Removal
- Refitting, 71A-24).
- Remove the lower bolt (1) from the rear side seat
belt.
- Remove the anchorage bolt (2) from the rear centre
seat belt.
K85
- Remove the rear parcel shelf side trim (see 71A,
Body internal trim, Rear parcel shelf side trim:
Removal - Refitting, 71A-34).
- Remove:
- the cover (3),
- the anchorage bolt (3) from the rear side seat belt.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
B85 or C85 or S85
- Remove:
- the seal partially (4),
- clip (5),
- bolt (6).
- Unclip the rear quarter panel trim (7).
B85 or C85
- Remove:
- the patch (8),
- the anchorage bolt on the rear centre seat belt.
- the rear side and centre seat belts through the
openings in the rear quarter panel trim.
B85 or C85 or S85
- Remove:
- the luggage compartment light connector,
- the rear quarter panel trim.
- Using a flat-blade screwdriver, unclip the rear parcel shelf side trim
at (9).
K85
- Remove:
- the bolt (10),
- the rear quarter panel trim.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
B85 or C85
- Always replace the lower bolt on the rear side seat
belt.
- Apply HIGH-STRENGTH THREADLOCK (see Vehicle:
Parts and consumables for the repair)
(04B, Consumables - Products) to the new rear centre
seat belt anchorage bolt.
K85
- Apply HIGH-STRENGTH THREADLOCK (see Vehicle:
Parts and consumables for the repair)
(04B, Consumables - Products) to the new rear side
seat belt anchorage bolt.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
B85 or C85 or S85
- Clip the rear parcel shelf side trim onto the rear quarter
panel trim.
B85 or C85
- Pass the rear side and centre seat belts through the
openings in the rear quarter panel trim.
B85 or C85
- Refit:
- the new anchorage bolt on the rear centre seat
belt.
- the patch (9),
- the luggage compartment light connector,
- the rear quarter panel trim,
- clip (5),
- the bolt (6),
- the seal (4).
K85
- Refit:
- the rear quarter panel trim,
- bolt (10).
III - FINAL OPERATION.
B85 or C85
- Tighten to torque:
- the rear centre seat belt anchorage bolt (21
Nm),
- the rear side seat belt lower bolt (21 Nm).
B85
- Refit the rear inner sill upper trim (see 71A, Body internal
trim, Rear inner sill upper trim: Removal -
Refitting, 71A-24).
C85
- Clip on the rear wing panel trim (see 71A, Body internal
trim, Rear panel lining: Removal - Refitting, 71A-32).
- Refit the rear bench seat.
K85
- Torque tighten the rear side seat belt anchorage
bolt (21 Nm).
- Refit:
- the cover (3),
- the rear parcel shelf side trim (see 71A, Body internal
trim, Rear parcel shelf side trim: Removal
- Refitting, 71A-34).
- Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(80A, Battery).
- Unlock the computer using the Diagnostic tool (see
Fault finding - Replacement of components)
(88C, Airbags and pretensioners).
