Renault Clio: Rubber bush: Adjustment

WARNING
Never use the rear axle as support for a lifting system.
ADJUSTMENT
- Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle: Towing and
lifting).
- Release the parking brake.
- Remove the rear wheels (see 35A, Wheels and tyres,
Wheel: Removal - Refitting, 35A-1).

- Unclip the speed sensor harness at (1).

- Loosen the rubber bush nuts (2).
- Remove the springs (see 33A, Rear axle components,
Rear suspension spring: Removal - Refitting, 33A-27).

- Place the tool component jack in contact with a
shim under the rear axle near the shock absorber at
(3).
- Adjust the component jack in order to obtain a distance
(X1) of 150 mm between the lower mounting
of the shock absorber and the side member.

- Torque tighten the rubber bush bolt (105 N.m).
- Do the same for the other side.
- Refit the springs (see 33A, Rear axle components,
Rear suspension spring: Removal - Refitting, 33A-27).
- Clip on the speed sensor harness.
- Refit the rear wheels (see 35A, Wheels and tyres,
Wheel: Removal - Refitting, 35A-1).

Rear-facing child seats
A baby’s head is, proportionally, heavier
than that of an adult and its neck is very
fragile. Transport the child in this position
for as long as possible (until the
age of 2 at the very least). It supports
both the head and the neck.
