REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
WARNING
To remove the gear selection sensor it is essential
that you shift to first gear before removal.
- Remove:
- the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 80A, Battery),
- the battery tray (see Battery tray: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 80A, Battery),
- the air filter unit (see Air filter unit: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 12A, Fuel mixture).
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED

- Disconnect the gear selection sensor connector (1).
- Remove:
- the gear selection sensor bolts,
- the gear selection sensor (1).
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATIONS OPERATION
- Check that the gear selection sensor is able to rotate
freely.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
- Refit:
- the gear selection sensor,
- the gear selection sensor bolts.
- Torque tighten the gear selection sensor bolts (4
Nm).
- Connect the gear selection sensor connector.
III - FINAL OPERATION.
- Refit:
- the air filter unit (see Air filter unit: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 12A, Fuel mixture),
- the battery tray (see Battery tray: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 80A, Battery),
- the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 80A, Battery),
- Carry out the necessary programming (see Fault
finding - Replacement of components (MR 394,
21B, Sequential gearbox).
